LLC "NIPI oil and gas USTU" was created one of the first in Russia in 2010 according to Federal Law No. 217-FZ on the initiative and with the full support of the rector of Ukhta State Technical University, Professor Nikolai Denisovich Tskhadai. The purpose of the establishment of the enterprise was the introduction of USTU developments in the field of reproduction of the study of the subsoil and the mineral resource base under the guidance of Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Nikolai Vasilyevich Dolgushin.

At the beginning of 2012, during the implementation of the strategy of OAO LUKOIL to outsource part of the design and survey work (a similar process took place in Perm, Tyumen, Volgograd), a project was added to the scientific direction of the Oil and gas Research Institute of USTU, which served as a powerful impetus to the development of the enterprise.

Since October 2012, there has been a change of leadership – Grigory Grigoryevich Gribov became the General director of LLC "NIPI Oil and Gas USTU". Under his leadership, a plan for the reorganization and development of the company was developed, involving the formation of teams in areas of activity with partial replacement of staff, which had a positive effect on the quality and timing of work.

Today, LLC "NIPI Oil and Gas USTU" is fully operational and is developing steadily. Most of the Institute's portfolio of orders consists of contracts for the design of well construction and development of oil and gas fields in the north of the Timan-Pechora oil and gas province (Komi Republic and Nenets Autonomous Okrug). NIPI Oil and Gas USTU LLC has dozens of unique design solutions for field development and well construction and more than 300 completed projects for: LUKOIL-Komi LLC, LUKOIL-Engineering LLC, Gazprom Dobycha Urengoy LLC, Gazprom Transgaz Ukhta LLC, Nobel Oil LLC (CO), LLC "Center-Dorservice" and others.

The scope of activity of LLC "NIPI oil and gas USTU" includes:

• design of construction of oil production, gas supply and urban development facilities;
• design and engineering in the field of well construction;
• comprehensive engineering surveys;
• land management and cadastral works;
• project solutions support and supervision;
• environmental safety design;
• industrial safety design;
• research and development work (R&D) with the involvement of laboratory and human resources of USTU.
• professional industrial training of designers on the basis of students of the relevant areas of USTU.

LLC "NIPI oil and gas USTU" fulfills the requirements in the field of occupational safety, approved by the legislation of the Russian Federation.
